Welcome to the Live Oak UU Church Endowment Website
The Live Oak Unitarian Universalist
Church Endowment was created in 2006 with the mission of supporting
UU outreach efforts. The endowment was funded after the sale of the
Lakeline Office Park, the church's former home. The church had
purchased that building in 1996, through the generous donations of
members. After the building sale, the congregation voted to fund an
endowment supporting Unitarian Universalist outreach efforts. The
congregation passed a set of by-laws creating and empowering an
Endowment Committee to manage the funds and direct the proceeds into
grants for the Unitarian Universalist community outside of Live Oak.
Should sufficient funds be available, grants will be awarded annually on the basis of their potential to benefit and strengthen the Unitarian Universalist denomination through congregational growth, as well as social and environmental action initiatives. Each year, proposals will be solicited from UU churches, fellowships, and their affiliated groups. Start-up groups can apply through a sponsoring UU church.
Proposals will be evaluated by the Endowment committee and grants will be awarded after the approval by the Live Oak Church governing body. Grants will not be awarded for the following purposes: debt reduction, bridge financing, and matching funds for other grants. Only one grant application per sponsoring church will be accepted each funding year. Applications will not be accepted from churches that have received a Live Oak UU endowment award during the previous calendar year.
Proposal solicitation
Proposals are solicited annually for the Live Oak UU Church Endowment. Thoughts
"Universalists are often asked where they stand. The only true answer to give to this question is that we do not stand at all, we move." - L.B. Fisher
